Over a year ago Jesse and I bought each other "the gift of flight" for Christmas (an ironic coincidence since neither of us knew the others plans for their gift) Unfortunately, I shortly thereafter conceived who would become the fourth and fifth members of our family. So, my first flying lesson and Jesse's "introduction to sky diving" got put on hold for the greater good of parenthood. Though both certificates had expired my husband used his mad people skills to convince both companies to allow us to take our beloved flying lessons anyway! And so began:
January 10th 2009
Our day of flight and fun!
11:15am - 12:15am
Yeah thats right Maverick here flew a plane today!
(If I were being honest I would tell you that, Jesse actually named me Ice-Man in the air and my flight instructor 'Maverick' who in turn named him Goose, of course since this is my story and my day of flight I get to be Maverick. got that? I am Maverick. me! me! me! on a side note I think its only just that Jesse (Goose) dies... it serves him right for not naming me Maverick in the first place!)
Right before take off! its too bad you cant see how awesome I looked in my headset because of "seatbelt face" Whatever, I was there I KNOW I looked cool!!!
What's that you say? I look freakin sweet next to the plane I flew?
Whatever, its no big deal.
Goose trying to look cool. We both know he cant though because Goose never looks as cool next to Maverick, though I love him for trying. Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Niner-Niner N597FA is clear for take off!
1:40pm - 2:40pm
Who knew goggles and a jumpsuit could make a man look so hot!

Lacie: "Honey, you have like four chins in that picture, you have to hold your chin out and down"
Jesse: "like this?"

Lacie's thoughts during this picture: "I married a mad and slightly large nostrilled man"
6:30pm
We stop off at Kay Jewler because every kiss begins with it... or because I got my ring cleaned and for funzies un-soddered from the wedding band. Memories flood back to the night Jesse proposed as I gaze at the newly detailed diamond (and my oddly over porous hands)
6:45pm - 7:45pm
A quick stop in front of 'Otavios' italian cuisine restorant'e for a photo and then back in the car to begin our decent home. (speaking of decent did I mention I flew a plane today?) Oh yeah and we ate here too!
My impersonation of a blow fish... whatever it was my first try and a person cant be expected to excel at EVERYTHING. (speaking of excel...)
8:00 pm
Lacie: "Hey, remember that time I flew a plane? that was Awesome!"
8:15 pm
Lacie: "Crap! tomorrow is sunday and we need a few groceries"
Jesse: *head bowed in shame*
MILK?
BREAD?

P.S. Just for the record, the only thing that would have made it better would have been owning the purse I saw at Urban- one (I might add) of the most beautiful purses in all creation of mankind. Thank you urban... no thank you poorness :(

Lacie!!! I can comment! Meanwhile, I can tell from that 45 second clip that you are a NATURAL!!! Thats it, we're starting our own pilot for hire venture AS SOON as we get our pilot licenses.
Lacie all I can say is I am so jealous......but so glad that I was not in the air. You know what they say about first time flyers right? I guess I can't think of anything witty to say. By the way you have such a beautiful family.
